Santa Rita de Casia, also known as Saint Rita, was an Italian Augustinian nun and saint. She was born in the year 1381 in Roccaporena, Italy, and died on May 22, 1457 in Cascia, Italy.

Santa Rita is well-known for her great humility, kindness, and devotion to God. She is often called the "Saint of the Impossible" because of the many miracles attributed to her intercession. Santa Rita is also the patron saint of abused women, difficult marriages, and people in need of physical healing.

Her feast day is celebrated on May 22nd each year and she is venerated by Catholics around the world. Santa Rita de Casia was canonized as a saint by Pope Leo XIII in 1900.
